The big question is: What prize goes to the winner? I say: This title has had the most consistantly good storytelling on the stands for the past several months. It's simply a must-pull. Aunt May is under Mr. Negative's sinister mind control. Musterio is pulling the strings on a Silvermane puppet. Peter Parker is seeing his personal life torn asunder from a multitude of forces -- some of them awfully cute. Slott is writing a tour de force with The Gaunlet, and Marcos Martin's Ditkoesque art is putting it way over the top.  Secret Six #18Creative team: Story by John Ostrander and Gail Simone; Art by Jim Calafiore Villain to Watch: Amanda Waller They say: The Black Lanterns have both the Suicide Squad and the Secret Six up against the wall. But Amanda Waller always has a plan. That plan: Manhunter! Plus, Deadshot is forced to make the decision of his life! I say: Speaking of tours de force, plan on being wowed by whatever the potent team of Ostrander and Simone have cooked up for us in Secret Six. That being said. I gotta say... As much as I'm enjoying the Secret Six / Suicide Squad crossover, I'm going to enjoy a return to the excellent Secret Six stories Simone has been crafting over the past couple years. Creative team: Story by Paul Tobin; Art by Patrick Scherberger Villain to Watch: Galactus, Enchantress They say: Galactus. Arguably the most powerful being in all creation. The sole survivor of the universe that came before our own. The deadliest threat to not only those the Beyonder has stranded on Battleworld, but even to the planet itself. Galactus. A being so powerful that his mere presence warps all reality, twists what is real and what is false. Galactus. The being that Spider-Man needs to stop, aided by an Enchantress who may be real, or may be false, and a certain black costume that's all a part of the game of...Galactus. I say: OK, so last issue wasn't a barn-burner, but I'm keeping this on the Pull List for another week. The hook is still solid and the art has been tight. Plus, we've got Galactus, Enchantress, the Symbiote Suit and Spidey. That's a darned good recipe for storytelling success.  Tails of the Pet Avengers #1

I say: Eliopoulos' Pet Avengers was a surprise hit last year, so it's no surprise the House of Ideas tapped the letterer/webcartoonist/writer/artist to take another charge with a follow-up series.  Strange #4Creative team: Story by Mark Waid; Art by Emma Rios Villain to Watch: TBA They say: In order to save a handful of lives, the powerless Stephen Strange has made a decision that will doom far more--and he has no way to undo it. The price Strange and his new apprentice will pay to set things right is incalculable--and will leave Stephen Strange forever changed I say: Y'ever think about stuff like this? A writer with Mark Waid's cache probably has his pick of several projects. So why choose an off-title like Strange? Reading the series so far, I think I know. Waid saw an opportunity to get past the Eye of Agamotto stuff and delve into what really makes the Sorcerer Supreme tick. You've know more about the good doctor reading this series than you'll find out after a week in the quarter bins. This unhinged lunatic has taken to the streets. Now Moon Knight must face the Scarecrow and his minions of madness under a black sky filled with crows in this final obstacle keeping him from his true nemesis: Bushman.
