This week's question...

A reader writes... Q: I’m a happily married man, but I’ve been having phone sex with a woman I met on line. I know my wife would disapprove, but I think it actually helps my relationship with my wife. I have no plans to ever meet this other woman, so it’s not like I’m having an affair, right? I want to be sure there’s nothing harmful that can come from this.

Q.: I have a female friend with whom I've been intimate before. The thing is, I was always attracted to her mentally and emotionally, but not as much physically. I've been unable to get her out of my mind, and wonder if she might be someone I could share my life with, but I'm worried that a shortage of physical attraction might lead to a disastrous sex-life or worse. Is is possible to learn to be physically attracted to someone, or to simply move past such skin-deep hangups?

Regarding the First Question:

Have you lost your mind? OF COURSE something harmful can come from this.

Sooner or later one of two things will happen:

1) Your phone sex friend will want more.

2) Your wife will find out.

And probably not in that precise order.

Now for the second Question:

If you have been "intimate" with this woman, is it safe to assume that the two of you have had sexual intercourse?

If so, then there has to be SOME physical attraction in order for that to occur.

But beyond all that, have you asked your friend how she feels about you and your relationship?
