Today’s page takes us back to Ralph’s Diner, where Captain Heroic proves—once again—that nothing rattles him… not even a surprise soup bath.

Hailey is mortified, Captain Heroic is dripping, and somewhere across the diner, Yazmine Velour is livestreaming the whole thing as heart emojis rain from the internet. It’s a small moment, but one that says a lot about who Cap really is—and why people can’t help falling for him.

Hailey (distraught that she has dumped hot soup on Captain Heroic): Omigod Omigod Omigod…

Captain Heroic (turning to another person eating at the diner): Excuse me. Would you hand me a napkin, please? (The person hands him a napkin)

I’m as excited for Wizard World Chicago as I used to get for Comic Con International. I’ve got an awesome spot in Artist Alley — Table B-21 — right around the corner from the legendary Neal Adams. I’ll be doing two great panels, and I’ll have all of the Evil Inc books, The Webcomics Handbook, Phables, and original art on hand. Like I said, Wizard World has been very, very kind to me. The space I have for Artist Alley is waaaay more than I had expected. So much so, I’m a little unprepared for it. My little banner stand is gonna get lost in that 30 square feet of space. So, I’m putting the word out: If you live in the Chicago area and you have a lighting rig I can borrow from Thursday through Sunday, I’ll make it worth your while to deliver it and pick it up. Here’s what I’m looking for (minus the lights, of course). lighting_rig I can use something like that to hang my extra-large convention banner from. It’s that big monstrosity the the rear of the booth set-up below. If you have any other ideas (the vinyl banner is gonna be too heavy for PVC pipe), feel free to shoot them my way. 2015-05-07 15.15.22
