It is an homage to Philadelphia’s Henri David Ball — a fantastic costume party thrown every year by jeweler Henri David. Tickets are $25 for costumed revelers and $60 for voyeurs. The proceeds go to charity. This year’s fete is at the Sheraton Center City Hotel at 16th and Race Streets in Philadelphia. Advanced tickets are for sale from the Halloween Jewelry Store, 1329 Pine St.: 215-732-7711. Get there prior to 10 p.m. if you’re buying tickets at the door, because the lines get long. Today’s page takes us back to Ralph’s Diner, where Captain Heroic proves—once again—that nothing rattles him… not even a surprise soup bath.
Hailey is mortified, Captain Heroic is dripping, and somewhere across the diner, Yazmine Velour is livestreaming the whole thing as heart emojis rain from the internet. It’s a small moment, but one that says a lot about who Cap really is—and why people can’t help falling for him.
