As the heated union negotiations reach binding arbitration, Cassie and Dr. Muskiday try to figure out how to eliminate those pesky emotion clouds. Unfortunately, in a supervillain office where nobody can agree on lunch, expecting a coordinated solution might be the most unrealistic plan of all.

Cassie Cruz: “Come on… we need to get back to the office and figure out how to get rid of these emotion clouds.”
Dr. Muskiday: “Aw. I was hoping we could stay for ‘binding arbitration.’”
Panel 2:
Cassie Cruz: “Wait a minute… my cloud is shrinking! Do you think they decided to try your orgy idea after all?!”
Panel 3:
Dr. Muskiday: “Impossible. This branch can’t agree on lunch. How do you expect them to sort out tops and bottoms??”

Who’s Up and Who’s Thwarted
Star Sapphire:Star Sapphire’s origins have been ret-conned to the following: The Star Sapphire stone is a creating of a race of Zamarons — female equivalents to the Guardians of Oa.
It seems to be something that weilds emotion energy — much like the Green Lanterns’ rings use will-power energy and the Sinestro/Parrallax rings operate on fear.
In response to GL defeating Star Sapphire one again, the Zamarons re-create the Star Sapphire stone.
As a ring.
Now we have Lantern rings, Sinestro rings, Sapphire rings, and — if the end of the issue is any clue — more to come.
One can only wonder what emotion energy the other rings will harness. Joy? Anger? Apathy? Ennui? Schadenfreude?
And we get to look forward to increasingly convoluted explanations of how emotions have ties to colors in the visual spectrum.
It has a ring to it. But then again, it seems as if everything is going to, too, before long.
Luckily, the
Sinestro Corps arc launches next month. And not a moment too soon.
