Chapter 17 | Page 14b: First-Date Tension

In today’s Evil Inc, Yazmine Velour pitches a viral strategy built entirely on first-date tension — because nothing hooks an audience like awkward chemistry and unresolved feelings. Unfortunately for Captain Heroic, his real-life situation may be trending in a very different direction…

The Week in Villainy: Mr. Mxyzptlk

Taking stock of super-villains

Mr. Mxyzptlk: In other Trickster-related news, in Countdown to Final Crisis #23, Mr. Mxyzptlk reveals himself as the Trickster God, raising his VQ to a god-worthy 9.

Then Superboy Prime makes him hurl and scars a “super-S” across the imp’s face. And, despite his supposed near-omnipotent, magic-based powers for evil, the best Mxy can muster is a weak retreat with the help of an other-dimensional Zatanna.

Am I the only one who remembers that one of Superman’s sole weaknesses was magic?

Anyway, Mxy’s failure to truly complete a Major League character transformation and kick S-Prime’s keister brings his VQ down to a respectible 7.
It woulda been an 8, but… puking on the job? Really? This is pretty lame for a Trickster God. He seals off the Fifth Dimension in Countdown 22, and that’s probably for the best.
